Freedom in Christ, Not Social Status

Just like a chicken will peck at an injured bird until it dies, people often kick us when we’re down. Whether it’s gossip, judgment, or silent withdrawal—wounds deepen when others pile on. Sometimes, our best friends turn their backs on us. But not Jesus. He doesn’t walk away. He steps in.

And that’s not just a comforting thought. It’s historical truth backed by Scripture and supported by solid evidence. We follow a Savior who was rejected, beaten, crucified—and then rose again. He did this for us. Not symbolically. Literally.

🐎 Animals Don’t Care About Your Status—Why Do We?

Animals don’t care what kind of boots you wear, how polished your reputation is, or how many followers you have. They respond to trust, consistency, and relationship—not showmanship. Maybe that’s a lesson we need more than ever.

In a world obsessed with appearances and approval, it’s easy to think your value comes from how many people notice you. But true freedom doesn’t come from being known by the world—it comes from being known and loved by Christ.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” – John 8:36

This freedom isn’t based on your title, your bank account, or your performance.
It’s rooted in a real event—Jesus' death and resurrection. And there’s strong evidence for both.

📖 Bible Fact Check: Why We Can Trust This Freedom

Our faith is not blind. It’s built on historical, eyewitness testimony.

📖 1 Corinthians 15:3–8 records a creed—quoted by the apostle Paul—that scholars date to within just a few years of Jesus' death. It lists multiple appearances of the risen Christ, including over 500 people at once.

🧾 Roman historians like Tacitus and Jewish historians like Josephus confirm that Jesus lived, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, and that His followers believed He rose from the dead—even under threat of death.

💥 Legends don’t form in a few years. And people don’t die horrific deaths for something they know is a lie. The disciples didn’t gain riches or fame—they gained chains and crosses. And they still didn’t back down.

So if Jesus really rose from the dead (and the evidence says He did), then everything He said is true—including what He says about you.

📉 The World Measures by Your Status—Christ Doesn’t

Social status rises and falls. Algorithms change. Trends fade. People's opinions shift. But your identity in Christ? That’s secure.

The world says:

  • You are your career.
  • You are your appearance.
  • You are your platform or your past.

God says:

  • You are loved, chosen, and redeemed.
  • You are free.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” – Galatians 5:1

You no longer have to prove your worth or perform for approval.
You don’t have to chase applause. You’ve already been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20).

🌾 A Different Kind of Influence

On a ranch, the most respected hand isn’t the flashiest—it’s the one who shows up, stays steady, and takes care of the herd. That’s the kind of influence God honors. Quiet. Faithful. Consistent.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:2

In a world chasing “more,” Christ invites us to rest in enough.

  • You don’t need a platform to make an impact.
  • You need faithfulness, not fame.
  • Your obedience in the unseen places speaks louder in heaven than all the noise on earth.

✍️ Action Step: Unplug and Realign

This week, hit pause on whatever makes you feel like you need to prove yourself. Take time to return to the Word, where your true identity is found.

Try this:

  • Read John 8, Galatians 5, or Colossians 3
  • Reflect on the historical reliability of Jesus’ resurrection—look up 1 Corinthians 15 and the writings of Josephus and Tacitus.
  • Journal how knowing Jesus really rose changes how you view your worth.

🌿 Final Encouragement: Ride Free

The resurrection isn’t just an Easter story—it’s a life-altering fact that anchors your identity. Jesus didn’t rise so you could hustle harder for approval. He rose to give you freedom—from sin, shame, striving, and the opinions of others.

You don’t have to fight for a seat at the world’s table. You already belong at the Father’s. So ride free, friend. Not for the spotlight, but for the Savior who sees you, knows you, and says, “You are worth it.”
